The 2nd International Children's Mugham Festival has closed in Azerbaijan's capital with a final concert and awards ceremony. The final show featured the performance of singers from Azerbaijan, India, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
Speakers at the award-giving ceremony praised the government`s and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva`s role in developing and promoting Azerbaijan's cultural values.
The festival, held since 1994, was given an international status last year. It aims to discover new talents in mugham, which was recognized by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2003.
