"Koroglu" opera by outstanding Azerbaijani composer staged in Istanbul

"Koroglu" (Blind man's son) by outstanding Azerbaijani composer Uzeir Hajibayov has been staged in Istanbul.
The opera, which was staged in Turkish for the first time, aroused great interest among visitors. The opera involved 250 actors from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Tatarstan and Bashkortostan.

Azerbaijan’s Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev, Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister Ertogrul Gunay, TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kaseinov and representatives of diplomatic corps of Turkic-speaking countries attended the performance.

Symphony orchestra of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre under artistic director and principal conductor of the Azerbaijan Uzeir Hajibayli State Symphonic Orchestra, People's Artist Rauf Abdullayev and the State Choir contributed to the performance. Singer from Tatarstan Ahmed Agadi played the role of Koroglu and famous singer from Kazakhstan Guizat Daurbayeva played the role of Nigar.
