Azerbaijan Culture Minister Adil Karimli has received Yalchin Adigozalov, a renowned conductor, People's Artist, and professor at the Uzeyir Hajibayli Baku Music Academy, who turns 65 this year, Azernews reports, citing the ministry.
At the meeting, Adil Karimli congratulated the musician on behalf of the ministry's staff and the cultural community, conveying his best wishes.
The minister underlined that President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva continuously show attention and care for the development of culture, including the music sector, in Azerbaijan.
The contributions of those who have played a role in the advancement of our music are highly valued. Yalchin Adigozelov has been awarded the title of "People's Artist" for his work in this field and was also honoured with the "Shohrat" (Glory) Order.
It was mentioned that Yalchin Adigozalov has organized numerous premieres in Baku with a classical repertoire and has actively promoted the works of Azerbaijani composers both domestically and abroad, engaging in extensive concert activities with symphonic orchestras.
During the meeting, the ministry awarded the jubilant artist a diploma of honour for his services to developing Azerbaijani culture.
Yalchin Adigozelov expressed his gratitude for the recognition and congratulations regarding his creativity.
The discussion also included an exchange of views on the prospects for the development of the music sector.
It should be noted that Professor Yalchin Adigozelov has been involved in pedagogical activities at the Baku Music Academy for nearly 30 years. His students are currently among the leading conductors in the republic. Since 2023, the People's Artist has been the artistic director and chief conductor of the Niyazi State Symphony Orchestra, which operates under the Heydar Aliyev Palace.
