Alanya Film Festival to screen Azerbaijani films

Azerbaijani films will be shown at the Alanya Crystal Castle International Film Festival.

Four films, including "The Steppe Man", "Too many coincidences", "Inner City" and "Red Garden" will be screened during the festival scheduled for May 2-8, Trend Life reported.

People's artist Fakhraddin Manafov will be the special guest of the festival.

"The Steppe Man" film is about a young steppe man who lives in remoteness from the city, closely tied to nature. His father teaches him the subtleties of life in the steppe. Soon after his father's death the young man meets a girl from a city. Their meeting becomes a new page in his life, a step to a big life unfamiliar to him before.  The film's director  Shamil Aliyev and actor Bahruz Vagifoglu will present film at the festival.

“Too many coincidences” is a romantic comedy. The main characters are Mike Kovalski, a young American of Azerbaijani descent and a young business woman Aydan Bagirzade face a number of similar situations. They meet by accident and their meeting is full of surprises.

“Inner city” is a psychological drama, directed by Ilgar Safat. The storyline is about love of a young girl to Karabakh war veteran. The lead roles are performed by Tahmina Rafaella, Firdovsi Atakishiyev, Mehriban Zeki and Elmira Shabanova. The film will be presented to spectators by film's director Ilgar Safat and actress, honored artist of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Zaki.

"Red Garden" film, directed by  Mirbala Salimli tells the story of a provincial teacher from blue blood, Abbas. ? desperate desire of having his own son makes him so indifferent to orphan in his custody and even to deadlock situation of his beloved spouse Vafa. But everything changes, when he himself causes Vafa’s death. Now in the otherworld Abbas is craving to have back all the things that he couldn’t protect in this world…

The film will be presented at the festival by director and scriptwriter, honored art worker Mirbala Salimli and actress, honored artist Gulzar Gurbanova.
