World flags through eyes of national designers

Kids Fashion Show devoted to the National Flag Day was held in Baku, Trend Life reported.

The stunning catwalk brought together 50 young models and 17 designers. The project was organized by the head of Star Kids Group, Aygun Aliyeva.

As part of the show, young models presented the symbols and colors of flags of such countries as Azerbaijan, Russia, Georgia, UK, Uzbekistan, Israel, Turkey, USA, Japan, France, Italy, Ukraine, Germany, Belarus, China and India.

The works of designers and young models were evaluated by the jury composed of renowned fashion designer Fakhriya Khalafova, head of the Center of National Costumes Gulnara Khalilova, People's artist of Azerbaijan, Nazperi Dostalieva, stylist Seva, singers Jeyhun Bakinskiy, Rufat Akhundov and others.

The fashion show was attended by the representatives of diplomatic missions, art and cultural figures, and of course, parents of little models.

The first place was taken by Gular Gojayev. The second place was given to Inji Shiralieva, while Nazrin Sharifli was ranked  third.

Among designers, the winner was Aysel Aliyeva, who presented a collection with the symbols and colors of the State flag of Azerbaijan. Aybeniz Akhmedova, who represented UK was the second, while Nargiz Baghirova (Uzbekistan) was third.

Fascinating show ended with a marvelous concert.

This year, Azerbaijan will be celebrating National Flag Day for the fourth time.

Back on November 17, 2009, this day was declared National Flag Day by a Presidential decree.

Since then, Azerbaijanis all over the world have celebrated this day.

The national tricolor, which is the face of the country and the most highly ranked symbol of independence, symbolizes Azerbaijani people' patriotism, aspirations, and sentiments in their continuous struggle for independence.

This symbol of sovereignty has been a witness to the magnificent events of Azerbaijan's history, the hard times, and also its period of development and prosperity.
