Best dancers to compete in Baku

The Rashid Behbudov State Song Theatre will host Baku Open Dance Cup 2016 on October 16, Trend Life reported.

The Organizing Committee wishes all the participants success and invites everyone to join this grand celebration of culture and art.

The country's best dancers compete on the stage with their artistry and flexibility.

Co-organized by Azerbaijan Youth Union and Azerbaijan Dance Association, the event will bring together the ensembles from many countries, including Georgia and Iran.

Participants of all ages will compete for the title in the nominations: hip-hop, house, techno, break dancing, dance shows, folk dance, stylized folk dance, dances of the peoples of the world, oriental, etc.

President of the Azerbaijan Dance Association Aziz Azizov said that the event is aimed to identify talented dancers.

”The main goal of the Open Cup is identifying talented teams working in different styles and modern social choreography, to represent Azerbaijan at the European and World Dance Championships,” he said.

Other important objectives of the competition, Azizov said are the exchange of experiences between managers, teachers and dancers working in Azerbaijan and abroad, and promotion of a healthy lifestyle, as well as bringing children, adolescents and young people to modern choreography.

The jury members include such prominent artists and famous as Rima Mammadova, Tahir Eynullayev, Ulviya Gasanova, Farid Ibragimov, Farhad Aliyev, Andrew Freeman, Kamran Mammadov, Aysel Huseynova and Veronica Talibova.
