Ghazals of great poet Nizami presented in Baku

The Nizami Ganjavi International Center hosted the presentation of project " Nizami`s ghazals " in Baku, Trend Life reported.

The event was attended by prominent public figures, representatives of culture and art, diplomatic missions, participants of the 5th Baku International Humanitarian Forum and others.

The project is dedicated to the 875 anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet, philosopher and thinker of the 12th century, Nizami Ganjavi.

Famous cultural figures, artists, musicians, performers, entertainers, presenters and athletes read lines from the works of the poet.

Addressing the event, ISESCO Director General Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri said that the creativity of the great poet became a part of world culture.

It was also stressed that Nizami`s poetry had a huge impact on the development of Eastern and world literature, fine arts and decorative-applied art. His creativity serves as inspiration for many famous poets and writers.

Over the past centuries, the works of the legendary poet have been perceived as an artistic phenomenon as his works reflect social and moral values of humanity of all time.

All poems and ghazals are full of deep philosophical content that call for freedom and justice.

The project consists of two videos that feature ghazals "Sevgili Canan" and "S?nsiz".

The project involved  director of the Institute of Manuscripts Teymur Karimli, Milli Majlis deputy Elmira Akhundova, deputy of the Milli Majlis, honored journalist Elmira Akhundova, president of the Azerbaijan Composers Union, Firangiz Alizade, director of International Mugham Center, People's artist Murad Huseynov,  honored artist of Azerbaijan, member of the Union of Artists Sakit Mammadov and others.
