Uzeyir Hajibayli Int'l Music Festival wraps up

The 8th Uzeyir Hajibayli International Music Festival wrapped up in Baku.

The festival provided excellent opportunity to enjoy the beauty of classical pieces, virtuoso skills of national and foreign musicians.

The festival full of music, sounds and colors brought together talented musicians from Azerbaijan, Russia, USA, Israel, Germany, Turkey and Georgia.

The clothing ceremony heard the performance of Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra named after U. Hajibeyli conducted by people's artist, conductor Fakhraddin Kerimov.

The orchestra performed fragments from Dmitri Shostakovich's suite "The Hamlet".

Violinist Umuda Abbasov performed "Concerto for violin and orchestra No. 1 (in four movements) by Dmitry Shostakovich. The performance was greeted with much acclaim.

The gala concert continued with the performances of Azerbaijan State Choral Chapel, the "Youth choir" of Tbilisi State Conservatoire, honored artists Farida Mammadova (soprano), Sabina Asadova (mezzo-soprano), Farid Aliyev (tenor) and Anton Verstand (baritone).

Gioachino Rossini's "Stabat Mater sounded at State Philharmonic Hall for the very first time. The festival gave a lot of pleasant memories to all music lovers.
