Baku festival of author's song opens

The 11th International Baku festival of authors’ songs has opened at the State Song Theatre named after Rashid Behbudov, Trend Life reported.

The festival is organized by Club of Authors with the assistance of Azerbaijan's Youth and Sports Ministry, Baku City Culture and Tourism Department and the literary project "The Word".

The festival that has already turned into a tradition features concerts, poetry nights and other events that allows to enjoy the summer nights in wonderful Baku.

The festival also contributes to the strengthening of creative contacts, friendship and mutual understanding as well as the exchange of experience in the field of study and the use of art song in modern practice.

The  opening ceremony featured the performance of writers and poets, including Ibrahim Imamaliyev, Vitaly Igolnikov, Vera Velikanova, Aladdin Yagubov, Alina Talibova (Azerbaijan), Alexander Tsilker (Russia), Oleg Stepanov (Russia), Anya Kontush (France) and Leyla Begim (the Czech Republic).
