Some people just do not have to think about the choose of their profession, since they are born to carry definite profession.

A representative of the third generation of the famous musical dynasty of Azerbaijan, conductor Yalchin Adigezalov was also born to be a musician.

When the 57-year-old maestro stands at the conductor's podium, then a magical feeling covers you, like he will take you by the hand, and begin an exciting way towards the most beautiful creation of the Almighty - Music.

He was brought up in an atmosphere where perfect music was a ruler.

His grandfather Zulfi Adigezalov was renowned and beloved mugham performer, his father Vasif Adigezalov was famous composer, while his uncle Rauf Adigezalov was a brilliant violinist and singer.

Evidently, music came into the talented conductor’s mind, before he was born and Yalchin believes he was destined to serve the music. He remembered how often his father worked a lot at nights, and little Yalchin and his brother fell asleep to the music.

A huge role in choosing of his profession belongs to outstanding national conductor Niyazi, whom, Adigezalov so fascinated.

He recognizes that each concert for him is like a debut and despite a fairly long period of conducting, for more than 25 years, he is still very worried during y concert.

The talented maestro believes that lack of excitement at every concert means lack of necessity for a musician to practice profession anymore.

“You never know how the concert will be held. It's like a human voice, the most delicate machine, the sound of which may depend on many factors. Sometimes during the rehearsals all goes well and everything works out perfectly, but the result is not what you expected at the concert,” he said.

As a leader of a music band, the conductor should be a psychologist, teacher, and have organizational skills and leadership qualities and must choose whether to be a dictator or a democrat.

“I'm a democrat, but the feeling of dictator gives the very conductor's podium, and you even dominate physically others,” he believes.

Good conductor must have good taste in music, be a professional, have simplicity and sincerity, according to the maestro. It’s impossible to fool musicians, Adigezalov assures.

“They immediately feel a conductor standing before them, and the conductor certainly feels musicians. This is determined from the first meeting, in the first 3-4 minutes of dialogue," he said.

The maestro believes that managing orchestra and waving a stick are different things. There are so-called "conductors" who for many years simply waving their hands. They have not learned to own and control the sound

He graduated from the piano faculty of Azerbaijan State Conservatory in 1982 and then between 1984 and 1989, he studied opera and symphony conducting at the famous St. Petersburg Conservatory.

Adigezalov became the conductor of the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra and the artistic director of chamber orchestra in 1989 and continued his studies at the Vienna Academy of Music and Fine Arts with Karl Osterreicher between 1990 and 1992.

He served as artistic director and principal conductor of the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra between 1991 and 1998. During two years he became the artistic director of Mozart festival held in conjunction with the Austrian government.

The maestro has collaborated with numerous renowned musicians, namely Mstislav Rostropovich, Nikolai Petrov, Sergey Stadler, Ivan Monigetti, Fyodor Galati, ?dil Biret, Boris Berezovsky, Dmitry Kogan, etc.
