Azerbaijanis join auto lovers expedition

Azerbaijan has joined the expedition of a group of auto lovers -- travelers to different countries around the world.

The national “Offroad” club, composed of 13 auto lovers has joined the exciting tour, promoting automobile tourism, the Azerbaijan Automobile Federation told Trend.

In summer 2013, standing on the edge of the cape Tanjung Piai in Malaysia, a group of auto lovers and travel enthusiasts decided to go around the world on the four-wheel friends. Thus the idea to drive around the world by car was born.

The travelers plan to visit 50 countries on five continents, on the vehicles prepared for hard off-road conditions.

There are a total of 12 stages, each lasting about six weeks.

The route is not the shortest, but the most interesting and difficult. Until 2018, the group plan to ride the south to sub-Saharan Africa, then takes off to the Arctic Circle. This route help cover a maximum of interesting places, according to the organizers.

The expedition team includes participants from Azerbaijan, Paris, Moscow, Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk.

Elshan Salimov presents Azerbaijan at this thrilling expedition. “I am very happy to take part at this impressive auto travel,” he said. “Azerbaijani flag waving over our car will symbolize good and peace during the whole expedition.”

Started from June the expedition overcame the first stage including Russia, Mongolia, China and Nepal.

The second stage is scheduled for October and the participants are going to tour through India, Pakistan, Iran, Georgia and Azerbaijan.
