The Israeli modern dance troupe "Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company" performed on the stage of the Heydar Aliyev Palace in Baku on June 20.

The performance with a modern dance program "Lullaby for Bach" was held in the framework of cultural events in connection with the first European games.

The dance troupe presented unexpected and bold ideas in the field of modern dance. The program was a demonstration of dance that knows no boundaries and borders. The audience was fascinated by what is happening on the stage and enthusiastically applauded the dancers.

Rami Beer, the artistic director and chief choreographer, said that this is a great honor for the group to perform in Baku during such a loud event as the European Games.

The dance group was founded in 1970. Today, the team is one of the well-known Israeli modern dance troupes. KCDC characterizes Israeli dance at its best and performs regularly in the most respected theaters and at leading festivals worldwide.

The European Games kicked off in Baku June 12 and will last till June 28.

There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.

Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
