"The Steppe man" heads to conquer India, Australia

Azerbaijan’s film “The Steppe man”, which was already screened at the numerous festivals, will be soon presented in India and Australia.

The film directed by Shamil Aliyev was included in the main competition program of the International Film Festival in India (II Noida International Film Festival-2015) and the main competition program of the festival IX Byron Bay International Film Festival, Australia.

While the Indian festival’s winners will be named on February 14, the Australian festival will be held on March 6-15.

The film produced by Azerbaijanfilm at the order of the Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Ministry already participated at 27 international film festivals and forums, was screened in the five continents.

The film was awarded with several prizes and diplomas and was also included in the long list of contenders for the 2014 Academy Awards in the category of "Best Foreign Language Film."

In 2013, the film received the "Humay" National Award.

Scriptwriter of the film is Vidadi Hasanov. Director of photography is Rafig Guliyev. Production designers are Rafig Nasirov and Ibrahim Khalil Aminov. Composer is Rauf Aliyev and producers are Mushvig Hatamov and Azer Guliyev.

The film stars Bahruz Vagifoglu, Vidadi Hasanov, Javidan Mammadov, Salome Demuria, Vusal Mehraliyev and others.

The story of the movie revolves around a steppe man living far from cities. His father introduces him to steppe life. After his father's death, he meets a young woman from a nearby village, and she transforms his life, leading him towards a big and unfamiliar world.
