Azerbaijani artist’s works on display in Moldova

The exhibition of famous Azerbaijani artist Mir-Teymur Mammadov’s graphic works was held in Kishinev, Moldova.

Organized by the Azerbaijani embassy in Moldova, the event was held as part of a program on development bilateral cultural relations and promoting Azerbaijani art abroad.

Alongside with the exhibition held in the embassy, the artist also presented a “Gold history” catalogue including his works.

The publication involves Mir-Teymur’s best graphic works, devoted to the Baku’s pearl, Icherisheher.

The event was attended by the ambassadors of Hungary, Georgia, Qatar and China, as well as CG of Kazakhstan and Moldova’s Deputy Minister Igor Sharov. Also, Chairman of Moldova Artists Association Genadi Jaloba, chairman of Azerbaijanis of Moldova Congress and many other officials participated at the event.

Mir-Teymur Mammadov has published more than 1,500 scientific articles on history, art and ethnography. The famous artist has taken part in numerous international symposiums held in Israel, Ukraine and Belarus. He has also been invited to the symposium of ceramists slated for August in Serbia.

In 1998, he gained the membership of the international "World's Ceramists" catalog from Azerbaijan. In 2006 he was awarded with the title of "Ambassador of Peace". In 2007, he got the honorary diploma and medal of Cultural Urological Association, "Simurg", for his contributions to the culture and art of Azerbaijan.
