The history of every great ballet is certainly based on a love story. And "Giselle" ballet is no exception.

In this ballet, the whole plot is built around the tragic fate of a country girl - Giselle, who falls in love with a wrong man, graph Alberta. The man is also betrothed to a beautiful aristocrat. However, the graph deceived the poor creature, dressed in simple peasant clothes.

The second part of the opera is fantastic. Like all the souls that deceived girls, Giselle became Vilis (fictitious creature), thus joining the souls of girls who died of unrequited love.

Conscience torments both forester and the graph. Making their way to the Giselle's tomb at night, forester dies, surrounded by round dance Vilis, and only love Giselle saves the graph from certain death. And all this is accompanied with the fantastically beautiful music of French composer Adolphe Adam.

This tragic ballet was recently put on display in Baku stage before the mesmerized eyes of the visitors.

The role was played by incomparable Olga Golica, who for the first time performed at Baku stage, and Czech bolero Jan Vanya, who flawlessly handled with their task.

The audience could not turn their eyes away from the performance of the duo.

Olga revealed multifaceted female essence of her character very emotionally and technically.

In the first act Olga, full of genuine fun and playful coquetry, easy fluttered in the Giselle's famous skirt and touchingly innocently guessing on flower.

Even transfigured with spirit, in the second act, Giselle retained a wave of tenderness, warm of earthly love, which allowed her to challenge in the fight for the life of Albert.

The real discovery for Baku ballet lovers was the performance of the Czech Jan.

Despite the fact that Giselle is classified in the category of women's ballets, there is a partner no less important here. Jan can be called almost ideal partner; Tall, handsome, friendly and artistic.

Charming synchronous octet of girlfriends in performance of national ballet troupe Arazova, Bolgarova, Mammadzada, Mirzoeva, Hajidadash, Chernousova, Gimadieva and Fershtandt in white tutu pleasantly whirled the heads of many visitors.

A standing ovation and endless cries of "Bravo" at the final bow showed that this international duo gained the minds and hearts of many fans in Baku.

And the luxurious bouquet of white roses, presented to Olga in the final unwittingly rose associations with heroine's white lily, handed by Albert - as a symbol of life, recalling that true love can protect and help the spiritual rebirth of each of us.
