01 October 2013 [16:05] - TODAY.AZ
“The Native Hearth”, a documentary by Azerbaijani filmmakers, has received “Best Documentary Film” award at the “Message to Man” 13th International Film Festival in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

“The Native Hearth” is a co-production between Azerbaijan (“Cinema house”) and Russia (“DS Films”). The production of the movie was funded by the Azeri Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Russian Ministry of Culture.

The festival was organised in collaboration with Nochlezhka, a local charitable organisation which helps the homeless.

This festival showcases contemporary European films, documentaries and short fiction films, and also aims to encourage film trends in European countries.

After a decline in the festival programme`s proportion of short documentaries over the last few years, the programme advisory board has now decided to make them a category in its own right. The films listed here are as exciting, instructive and entertaining as their full-length relatives.

The festival provides an opportunity for young directors not only to learn the secrets of world cinema and film production, but also to participate in the formation of the Central European auteur cinema.
