International Jazz Festival due in Baku

Baku will host an International Jazz Festival on October 23-November 2.

Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Culture Fund of Azerbaijan, the festival will bring together prominent jazz performers.

The Baku International Jazz Festival is an annual jazz event and aims to showcase Azerbaijan's long-running attachment to the American-born art form, a connection first established in the country during the 1950s and 1960s, a time when jazz was outlawed by Soviet authorities.
Many famous musicians from many countries participate in the festival, including from Georgia, Portugal, Italy, Israel, the USA, Germany, Canada and Russia.
