Future Cinema, the creators of Future Shorts and Secret Cinema, announced the very latest edition of the Future Shorts Festival.

Showcasing the most exciting short films and filmmakers from around the world in amazing venues, Future Shorts is continuing to build a massive screening network and powerful community – from Cinema Jenin in Palestine, a palace in Bucharest and hot tubs in London: 6 continents, 90 countries, 285 cities with an expected audience of 40,000.

From 1 October to 31 December 2012, the Autumn Programme will feature 5 short films and explore hope and despair in human life in the metropolis. Selected short programming includes: “A Brief History of John Baldessari”, from the directors of CATFISH and narrated by Tom Waits; “Rite” nominated for BAFTA Best Short Film and Winner of Sundance’s Short Filmaking Award; “The Black Balloon”, Winner of Special Jury Mention at Tribeca Film Festival; “Café Regular” and “Auf Der Strecke” winner of over 50 international awards.

The Screenings will be taking place in Park Cinema (4th floor of the Park Boulevard Mall) on November 23rd  and 24th . Screenings begin at 19:00 and 21:00. Tickets are available at Park Cinema box office.

Future Shorts is also celebrating the launch of a film collaboration to save lives with Malaria No More UK, an innovative charity working to end suffering and death from malaria. This Autumn, film lovers across the UK can host screenings for the charity, creating a new brand opportunity to raise funds and awareness to fight malaria, a preventable disease that claims the life of a child every minute.
