Azerbaijani film shown at Cannes

Azerbaijani short film “Don`t be  silent” by filmmaker Rustam Babazadeh (IZ Production) has been displayed at the 65th Cannes Film Festival. The film was demonstrated as part of the “Short Film Corner event.

The program of the film festival included another Azerbaijani short film “Incognito” (ULTRA Production). The aim of the Short Film Corner is to promote contacts between professionals having a significant direction, production, broadcast or promotion activoty in direct relation with short films.

At Cannes, short films are represented at the Competition, at the end of which the short films Jury awards a Palme d`or, and at the Short Film Corner, a professional area for meeting people, exchanging ideas and promoting films.

Cannes Short Film brings these two entities together in a complementary dynamic in an attempt to offer an all-encompassing panorama of short film production worldwide, as well as to stimulate the creativity of short film professionals by bringing them together at workshops and conferences in an area set aside for this purpose at the Palais des Festivals.
