Baku to host Int'l Classic Music Competition

The 1st international classic music competition of the youth of Islamic World will take place in Azerbaijan`s capital on April 27-28. The competition supported by ISESCO and Azerbaijan Ministry of Youth and Sport will be organized by “Kainat” (“The Universe”) Youth Center.

According to the Youth Center, the music competition will bring together talented young musicians under-20 from Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia (Tatarstan) and Azerbaijan.

The chairwoman of the jury is vice-rector of the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibayli, Honorary Artist, and Professor Yegana Akhundova. Auditions will be arranged in the Baku Music Academy and the Magomayev Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall on Friday and Saturday respectively. The State Philharmonic Hall also will host gala concert of finalists and awarding ceremony on Saturday.
