An event dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the short story writer, and translator Bella Akhmadulina has been held at the Russian Information and Cultural Center, in Baku.
The co-organizers of the event were the representative of Rossotrudnichestva (Russian The Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation) in Azerbaijan and Sotrudnichestva Solidarity of Azerbaijani Nations Society.
Addressing the event, Raisa Abdullayeva, head of the Sodruzhestvo Literary Union, told about Bella Akhmadulina`s life and activity. Bella Akhmadulina was part of the Russian New Wave literary movement. She was cited by Joseph Brodsky as the best living poet in the Russian language.
The main themes of Akhmadulina's works are friendship, love, and relations between people. She wrote numerous essays about Russian poets and translators, some devoted to her close friend, Bulat Okudzhava.
