bmi, British Midland International and the Diamond Club restaurant have announced a “Day of British Cuisine with bmi” as part of the ‘Gourmania project’, which will be held at the Diamond Club on Feb.18.
Focusing on British cuisine prepared in bmi’s Business Class, the event will see two celebrities, the popular TV presenters Tural Asadov and Husniya Magerramova, compete for the title of the best British cuisine chef. The two presenters will be cooking some of the most popular items from the bmi Business Class menu:
• Peat-smoked salmon with potato horseradish and chive salad
• Chicken breast with autumn potato cake and wild mushroom sauce
• Cheddar, red onion and rosemary tart
The judging panel includes representatives from the Diamond Club, bmi and a popular Azeri chef who will name the winner at the end of the event. The winner will be rewarded with two return tickets to London courtesy of bmi. Guest will also be entertained by popular singers Diana Haciyeva and Elnur Huseynov while Tural and Husniya battle it out in the kitchen.
The Day of British Cuisine is one of the most high profile events of Diamond Club’s cooking projects since it started in the Spring of 2011.
Leyli Alakbarova, Key Account Manager for bmi in Azerbaijan, said: “bmi takes great pride in selecting fresh, contemporary British dishes for its onboard menu, so we are happy to meet with our customers and celebrate British food.
