Azerbaijan culture evening held in Tokyo

The Embassy of Azerbaijan to Japan organized an evening of Azerbaijan culture. The event marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of relations between Azerbaijan and Japan. The event was attended by members of Japanese parliament, diplomats and representatives of the general public.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Japan Gursel Ismailzadeh addressing the event said relations between the two countries as friendly and developing. The ambassador also described economic, energy projects being implemented in Azerbaijan and progress achieved by the country since it restored its independence.

The Republic of Azerbaijan attaches great importance to its relations with Japan. Relations between our countries developed very successfully after Azerbaijan became independent in 1991. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1992. The Republic of Azerbaijan and Japan cooperate in different fields and have very strong political relations. Economic cooperation between the two countries plays an important role in the development of our relations based on mutual respect, interest and friendship.
