Azerbaijan defined capitals of folk

Gedabey declared as the capital of Azerbaijan legends, Masalli - the capital of Azerbaijan folklore and Guba - the capital of Azerbaijan's skill in 2012.

The purpose of selecting the capitals of folk art is the preservation of non-material assets in Azerbaijan, the continuation of reforms to support and promote folk art, folk artists and folk teams, national traditions, as well as recognition cities and districts of Azerbaijan at the international level, Ministry of Culture and Tourism said on Tuesday.

For this purpose, with regard to the execution of the Capital of folk art for 2010-2014 project approved by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, about 20 cities were nominated for the election of "capital" in the nominations of folklore, art and ethnography in 2012.

The proposals were approved, taking into account the general training, history, and other factors in the cities.

In this regard, ceremonies on nominations, scientific-practical conference on the national and international level, "round tables", concerts, competitions, festivals, exhibitions, fairs, info-tours and other activities will be held Gedabee, Masalli and Guba during the year.
