Europe to host Azerbaijani Cinema Week

The Azerbaijani Cinema Week is expected to be held in France and Italy in 2012,Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfaz Garayev said at the event on the results of activities in the cinema sphere in 2011.

 He said it is planned to renovate the Azerbaijanfilm studio in 2012 and  an action plan for the studio will be developed. Garayeva noted development of the film industry in Azerbaijan and appreciated the existence of the  Azerbaijani pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival.
 
"Today we need to shoot comedy movies. But, we also seek to show the philosophical content of films and will do our best to help in this. We must pay attention to these films," he said.

Abulfas Garayev participated in the opening of the Nizami center cinema after reconstruction. He said the center was reconstructed under the state program on development of cinema. The opening of this center is one of the most important events in the film industry in 2011, Garayev said. The center will operate from today.
