Azerbaijan to manufacture explosives

Azerbaijan plans to build explosive manufacturing plants, Defense Industry Minister Yaver Jamalov told journalists today. This is one of the ministry’s priorities for 2012. " Major projects are expected to be carried out in the defense industry in 2012 and construction of explosive manufacturing plants is among them," he said.

"The plants will produce TNT, gunpowder, as well as parts of the assembly systems for rockets of various calibers, corps of artillery shells, anti-tank missiles and other,” Jamalov noted. The ministry will hand over 60 unmanned aerial vehicles such as "Aerostar" and "Orbiter-2M" to the Azerbaijani Armed Forces by late 2012.
