
Korea plans to deeply expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in the energy sector, Korean Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lee Ji-ha told journalists. "Korean companies are willing to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in the energy sector, in particular within AGRI project (Azerbaijani gas supply to Europe), the state program on development of renewable and alternative energy sources," Lee Ji-ha said. "And from next year we intend to increase investments in these spheres," he added.
He said now Korean companies are actively cooperating with Azerbaijan in the sphere of restoration of transport infrastructure, water supply systems, as well as in the sphere of road construction in the country's regions. He said from 2008 to 2011 the total volume of Korean investments in Azerbaijan's economy amounted to $133 million. In 2012, this volume is expected significantly increase," Lee Ji-ha said.
