Azerbaijan's energy system won't have problems as a result of the increased demand for electricity during the Eurovision-2012 to be held in Baku next year, the Industry and Energy Ministry reported with reference to Azerenergy (production and distribution of electricity in Azerbaijan).
Azerbaijan's energy system has a reserve capacity of 1,000 megawatt. Preparation of the supply to the facilities where the contest will take place corresponds to the highest standards.
The 240-megawatt Bayil (100/35/10 kV) substation, is currently under construction. The building of the 6KW three substations, the autonomous diesel generator spare capacity of 12 megawatts and the 10 MW uninterruptible power supply (UPS) are all about to start. The company APR Energy had already submitted proposals to build a temporary plant to meet growing electricity demand.
