RWE hopes for Shah Deniz consortium’s timely decision

German RWE, which is one of the shareholders of Nabucco gas pipeline project hopes for a timely decision from Azerbaijani Shah Deniz gas condensate field development consortium, German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung quotes the company's chief commercial officer Leonhard Birnbaum as saying, Bloomberg reported.

"A decision must now be taken to avoid creating additional costs and threatening the pipeline's start of operations planned for 2013," Birnbaum said.

Gas, which will be produced during the second stage of Shah Deniz field development is considered as the main source for the projects within the Southern gas Corridor (Nabucco, TAP and ITGI), designed to transport Azerbaijani gas to the European countries.
