Baku to complete modernization of international airport

CJSC Azerbaijan Airlines will complete the reconstruction, modernization and renewal of the outside of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku prior the Song Contest "Eurovision-2012" that will be held in Azerbaijan, CJSC spokesman Maharram Safarli said.

 He said modernization and reconstruction of the airport is actively underway to complete all the scheduled work by May. Deputy Chief of Azerbaijan Hava Yollari Sabir Ilyasov said earlier that the company has prepared a special action plan to conduct the relevant operations.

The Heydar Aliyev International Airport is located northeast of Baku. Azerbaijan Airlines provides passenger services to Europe, CIS, Middle East and Asia.  The airline is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
