Azerbaijani mobile operator appeals for applying 4G standard

22 November 2011 [17:25] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijani mobile operator Bakcell, appealed to the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry with a proposal to render 4G services, Deputy Minister Elmir Velizade told media today.

He said that providing there are no problems with issuing a licence to provide 4G services and that the company is technically ready to provide services to this standard, the permissive document may be submitted.

In early November, the Ministry issued licences for Azercell and Bakcell mobile operators to provide 3G services. Azerfon has already received the licence to provide this service. All three mobile operators were recommended to submit proposals to introduce 4G.
