Arif Rahimzadeh: “More funds are allocated on films than municipalities”

17 November 2011 [15:51] - TODAY.AZ
Chairman of the Committee on Regional Affairs of the Azerbaijani Parliament Arif Rahimzadeh noted that the amount allocated to municipalities is small in the draft budget for 2012.

Rahimzadeh noted that AZN 3.5 million provided in the draft budget for 2012 to municipalities is not sufficient to meet their needs: “This amount does not mean anything for more than 1,700 municipalities”.

He added that in 2008 municipalities were allocated the same amount. Despite the fact that since the budget has increased by 50%, this amount had not increased: “At a time when the removal of films released over AZN 9 mln, AZN 3.5 million to municipalities - very little. Although the municipalities are the local government - a very important part of the government structure”.

Rahimzadeh offered to give grants and subsidies in agriculture not on the overall results, but in the final: “We have to go to the practices of international experience”.
