SOCAR replaces lifeboats at offshore platforms

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is replacing lifeboats at offshore oilfield platforms located at the shallow-water field Gunashli, the SOCAR reported on Monday.

The lifeboats will be needed to evacuate oil workers from the platforms in the event of accident or fire.

The SOCAR bought 46 Korea-manufactured lifeboats meeting modern requirements to place them at oilfield platforms. Ten lifeboats have already been placed at platforms NN 3, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 15, and 19, and six more ones are being placed at platforms NN 6, 13, 15, and 19.
