
On November 16, the conference entitled “European dimension of Caspian Energy” and jointly organized by the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAM), the French Institute of International Relations (IFRI) and the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) will be held in Baku.
SAM said that the purpose of this conference is to discuss the economic and political issues of the development of Europe- Caspian Sea energy projects and analyze the position of Azerbaijan in the region.
The conference will lay grounds for the discussions regarding the energy security of the South-Eastern Europe and further development of the regional cooperation.
During the event the role of Azerbaijan in the energy security, the impact of unresolved conflicts on the security, Caspian-South Caucasus region’s contemporary geopolitics, regional cooperation, attraction of investments, economic cooperation and other issues will be discussed.
Dr. Dominique David, a Executive Vice-President of IFRI, H.E. Amb. William Ramsay, a Senior Adviser of the Center for Energy at IFRI, Dr. Gul Luft, CEO&President of the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security, Dr. Aleksey Gromov, Deputy General Director of the Russian Institute for Energy Strategy, Dr. Aleksey Khaytun, Head of the Center for Energy Policy at the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Science, Dr. Vitaly Baylarbayov, Deputy Vice-President of SOCAR, Dr. Mert Bilgin, an Associate Professor of Bahcheshehir University and other experts will speak at the conference.
