SOCAR president: Azerbaijan is ready to export gas to Iran

Azerbaijan is ready to export gas to Iran, president of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev said.

He said there was a gas deal between the two countries, but Azerbaijan has not started gas export yet. “Azerbaijan is ready to export gas when Iranian side requests”.

Abdullayev noted that Azerbaijan considers export of 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Russia next year, same volume with this year’s export.

Azerbaijan exports 400 million cubic meters of natural gas to Iran per year to meet gas needs of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan.
