Azerbaijani ministry improves digital TV quality in Karabakh's southern territories

Teleradio production association under the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry improved the quality of digital television in the southern territories of Karabakh, the ministry said on Saturday.

This was possible thanks to the new digital equipment commissioned at TV station, located in the village of Ahmadbayli in Fizuli region.

Earlier, southern territories of Karabakh were covered by a digital television signal through the Agsu TV tower. The new digital equipment was commissioned at TV station in the village of Ahmadbayli. It allowed to improve the quality and coverage of TV programs broadcasted in digital format.

A digital television signal will cover 85 percent of the settlements of the republic next months. At present, digital broadcasting covers Baku, Ganja, Shirvan, Lerik, Lankaran and nearby areas.

Digital content is broadcasted in MPEG-4. Subscribers should purchase a decoder to pass to digital broadcasting.
