Baku hosts meeting of CIS Countries Coordinating Council on Tax Agencies

Today, the 13th meeting of the Coordinating Council of Heads of Tax (financial) Investigation Bodies of the CIS member states (CCTIB) kicked off in Baku.

Deputy Minister of Taxes Namig Aliyev informed about cooperation of Ministry with this organization. He noted that, financial and economic crime increased in the world and importance of struggle against these cases within the CIS rose.

Thereafter, Russia’s Deputy Interior Minister Igor Aleshin has been elected chairman of the Coordinating Council of Heads of Tax (financial) Investigation Bodies of the CIS member states (CCTIB)

Role of the Council in protection of economic security in the CIS space, fulfillment of decisions passed at the 12th meeting, improvement of tax agencies’ activity in struggling against corruption, including the fight against crime, a joint special operations and operational and investigative activity were discussed at the meeting.

Besides, the meeting will also consider the draft decisions on the approval of the provision and coordination meeting of the CIS countries’ institutions cooperating in the fight against crime.

The CCTIB was established in June 1999. The last council meeting was held in Kazakhstan in 2010.
