Azerbaijan purchased 7 aircrafts this year

In 2011, AZAL purchased 6 Airbus-320 and 1 Boeing 767-300 ER aircrafts and it signed agreements with Boeing company on new orders, Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov said at the Cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of President Ilham Aliyev.

To him, in 2011, new flights were launched to Izmir, Aberdin (Scotland) and Simferopol cities, Baku-Kiev-Baku, Baku-Trabzon-Baku flights were restored and the number of flights was in creased. Flights to Nakhchivan AR started to be realized by Airbus-320 aircraft.

This year, the works on construction of new air terminal at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, flight and landing strip, 4 hangars for aircrafts and Gabala airport have been continued. Interstate project on installation of radio technical means at Nakhchivan and Ganja airports on account of credits of international financial organizations was completed too.
