153 mln tons of cargo and 937 mln passenger transported in Azerbaijan this year

The volume of cargo transportation in Azerbaijan in January-September, 2011, amounted to 152.6 million tons, the Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov said at the Cabinet meeting. According to his words, passenger transportation in January-September, 2011, amounted to 938.6 million.

In addition, 16.4 million tons of cargo accounted for the railway, 81.6 million tons - motor vehicles, 9.3 million tons - Maritime Transport, 36 tons - air transport, 45.3 million tons - pipelines.

In total, the volume of cargo transportation in Azerbaijan for 2003-2011 years was 1.4 billion tons, the volume of passenger transportation - 10.1 million people. The volume of freight traffic along the Azerbaijan section of TRACECA was 415.1 million tons.
