
A special meeting of the World Economic Forum on economic growth and job creation in the Arab World has started Saturday in Jordan. The event was attended by King of Jordan Abdullah II, President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, King of Spain Juan Carlos I, Qatar`s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, Libyan Acting Prime Minister Mahmoud Jibril, Prime Minister of the Palestinian National Authority Salam Fayyad, Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab, former heads of government of several countries, politicians, economic experts, about 700 businessmen, ministers of 20 countries and representatives of NGOs from more than 50 countries.
Azerbaijan is represented at the event by Finance Minister Samir Sharifov. Former Prime Minister of France Édouard Balladur, who spoke at the event on behalf of G8 countries, said the Group intends to allot $70-80 billion credit to provide successful implementation of political and economic reforms in Arab Spring countries and Jordan. As part of the meeting, seminars were organised to solve some economic problems in the Middle East and Arab World.
