Some 600 enterprises privatized in Azerbaijan this year

During the first three quarters of 2011, about 600 state enterprises and objects, as well as the land plots, on which about 410 facilities are located, have been privatized in Azerbaijan, the chairman of the State Property Committee of Azerbaijan Karam Hasanov said at the board meeting on the results of operations for nine months.

According to him, in 2011, a total of 100 million manat has been invested in state-owned enterprises privatized in recent years.

During the reporting period, 500 non-residential premises were leased, and period of contracts has been extended for lease of approximately 600 facilities, said Hasanov.

Also in January-September, 300 new contracts were signed for the lease of land plots.

Hasanov said, as of Oct. 1, the registry recorded information about 6,400 state-owned enterprises with legal status, and their 6000 branches and 133,000 units of real estate.
