Grant arrangement signed for KOICA project in Azerbaijan

The Grant Arrangement for KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) project on 'Automation of Intellectual Property Rights Management System' signed, KOICA reported.

The agreement was signed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Azerbaijan, LEE, Ji Ha and the Chairman of State Committee of Standardization Metrology and Patents, Ramiz Hasanov.

KOICA will provide the project budget which is US $4,200,000 for the implementation of the project during 24 months during 2011 to 2013 on behalf of the Korea's government.

The objectives of the project are to improve the efficiency and productivity in the management of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) by AzStand to provide better services for the public, to establish a computerized system to automate IPRs administrative activities of the AzStand, to construct national IPRs database collection of Azerbaijan, and develop a Digital IPRs Library for the public, to increase qualifications and skills of AzStand officials and specialists with the transfer of necessary technology, know-how through the invitational training programs and dispatch of experts, as well as establishment of a Training Center in AzStand, to ensure sustainability of IPRs System in Azerbaijan.

Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is a government agency of the Republic of Korea implementing the government's grant aid and technical cooperation programs. KOICA has 43 representative offices in partner countries.
