
Azerbaijan's GDP grew by 5.7 times over the past 15 years, which made the country one of the leaders in terms of economic growth, the head of the department of analysis, forecasting and economic policy of the Economic Development Ministry, Adalat Muradov, said at the conference "Azerbaijan's economy in the years of independence " this week.
During this period, Muradov said, non-oil sector increased by 2.8 times. Investment in fixed assets has increased by 44 times and reached $ 10 billion since 1995.
"The average annual growth of Azerbaijan's economy is 14 percent and increase in the country's non-oil sector is 9 percent, the consumer price index remains at the one level," the director of Research Institute on Economic Reforms at the Economic Development Ministry, Vilayat Veliyev, said.
The scientific-practical conference on "Azerbaijan's economy in the years of independence," was dedicated to 20th anniversary of Azerbaijan's independence and organized by the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences.
