Azerbaijan’s strategic currency reserves to hit $100 bln by 2021

Over the next 10 years, Azerbaijan's strategic currency reserves can reach $100 billion, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy Ziyad Samadzade said on Thursday.

"It is not excluded that this figure will be considerably higher. These funds will be mainly directed to the State Oil Fund for future generations, but the funds will be used for infrastructure projects that will also create conditions for the development of private entrepreneurship in the country," Samadzade said.

Azerbaijan's strategic currency reserves reached $38 billion. The currency reserves of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan reached $6943.3 million in the first nine months of 2011.
