SOCAR President: There are such occupied areas, which hide millions tons of oil

The houses, built on the lands belonging to SOCAR are very serious problem, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev told journalists.

To him, the citizens constantly try to build illegal house on these lands: “We prevent new buildings, we do not destroy the old houses. Thus, we do not touch the houses with documents. We do not destroy any houses without the court decision, we act within framework of the law”.

Abdullayev noted that the foreign companies could not work on the lands, leased from SOCAR: “Because these areas have been occupied by the citizens. There are such occupied areas, which hide millions tons of oil. Is it right? Living in such areas is harmful for people, it influences on genofond”.

SOCAR President said that the illegal houses built on the lands belonging to the company would be destroyed even after this.
