
Caspian Oil Fleet-BUE Caspian Alliance has today commissioned a supply ship Caspian Provider to provide services to BP Azerbaijan.
The opening ceremony was attended by SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev. The ship is the 16th in a row, delivered to the Caspian Sea based on a contract that the Alliance signed with BP Azerbaijan.
The ship's length is 73.4 meters, width - 16 meters. Power of the main engines - 6,300 hp.
The ship Caspian Provider will provide services to platforms located on the "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli" oil and gas fields' block and "Shah Deniz" gas-condensate field from today.
It is envisaged that two towing supply vessels are planned to be delivered to Baku in 2012 to provide services to BP-Azerbaijan.
