Azerbaijan purchases Mi-17 helicopters from Russia

Azerbaijan purchased several Mi-17 helicopters from Russia. Russian Mass Media reported that according to the agreement signed between the sides, the helicopters will be handed over to Azerbaijan till the end of the year.

The organization, which sold the helicopters, was not named. Mi-17 helicopters mainly discharge functions of transportation (personnel, cargo), ambulance, fire extinguishing and rescue.

Azerbaijan’s various organizations (civil and military) have bought more than 10 Mi-17 helicopters from Russia over the last 5 years.
