Azerbaijan is 8th in Eastern Europe on the IT Competitiveness Index

Azerbaijan ranked eighth among Eastern European countries on the IT Competitiveness Index for 2011, based on international research conducted and published by the Economist Intelligence Unit with support of the Business Software Alliance (BSA).

The index compares 66 countries using basic indicators which are essential for developing the IT-industry. These are general business environment, infrastructure, human capital, research activity, regulation, and public support for industrial development.

Romania, Croatia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, and Russia are ranked as the top five countries in Eastern Europe within the Index.
