A new complex is being constructed at the Baku International Airport named after Heydar Aliyev.

As earlier reported by AzerTAc, the construction works launched in March 2011. When this project is realized, the airport will be able to serve 3 million passengers a year. The square of the airport complex covers 58 cubic meters. The triangle shaped four-storey building will realize international flights after the exploitation. Current terminals will be engaged in local flights.

The building of the new terminal will be equipped with 18 escalators and 20 passenger elevators. The latest scientific and technical achievements in international aviation will be applied here. The terminal with attractive and modern appearance will offer a high level of passenger services and ensure ultimate security of flights with the help of most recent high-tech equipments. Its territory will have aerobridges which will enable to receive 8 aircrafts simultaneously.
