A license for the introduction of 3G technology will be issued to two more mobile operators (Azercell and Bakcell) in Azerbaijan in the near future, Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov said.
According to him, mobile operators are given appropriate instructions for the widespread introduction of 3G technology in Azerbaijan. Abbasov noted that in Azerbaijan, the tariffs for mobile communications are at the level of Eastern Europe.
He added that a full transition to digital broadcasting is considered before the end of 2012: “The company is actively working in this direction”.
According to Abbasov, in Azerbaijan internet tariffs make AZN 20 for 1 Mbit / hour, AZN 2 of it are paid to ATC, and about AZN 10 - on the purchased overseas Internet traffic, and only AZN 8 to ISP. He added that the providers give the various arguments for the artificially inflated prices.
